Muzio Clementi

Dates: January 24, 1752 - March 10, 1832

Best Known for: Gradus ad Parnassum (piano studies)

Many sought after him as a piano instructor 


Luigi Boccherini

Dates: February 19, 1743 - May 28, 1805

Italian

Cello

Best Known for String Quintet in E, Op 11 No 5 and Cello Concerto in B Flat Major

Credited with improving Haydn’s model of the string quartet by making the cello a solo instrument rather than an accompaniment role.


Antonio Salieri

Dates: August 18, 1750 - May 7, 1825

Italian

Violin and Harpsichord

Best Known for Armida, Der Rauchfangkeher

His music influenced some of the most talented composers of all time. Salieri's illustrious students included Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Hummel, and Czerny.
